Have I been given the wrong coil?

I got the hormonal coil fitted last September. They told me I should have this one because I got bad period pains and it’d make them lighter and less painful whereas the non hormonal coil can make them worse.

However my periods are worse now I’m on the coil they last way longer then a week and I’ll get pains over 3/4 days whereas before it was normally just the first day! I can’t get it check rn cause of COVID but has anyone else experienced this because I’m thinking it’s very unlikely they fitted the wrong one?!

I can basically guarantee that they didn't fit the wrong one.  It'd require multiple layers of failure on their part to do so.

Not everybody finds every method of BC works for them. You may well be one of the unlucky people who don't like the Mirena.
