    every sore is a herpe

  • Yes. Cold sores are caused by the oral herpes virus, meaning you have herpes on your mouth. They're often passed during child hood by being innocently kissed, by a close friend or family member that has them. They rarely come from having oral sex or intercourse. They're very common to have, and they don't do any thing to your health besides cause an occasional cold sore or fever blister break out.

Herpes type 1 (HSV-1) will infect your trigamous nerves on face. If your nerve that goes to your mouth is infected, you'll get blisters on and around mouth,. If the nerve that goes to your eyes is infected, the sores will go from indside your eye all the way up to behind your ears. If not treated in time, they can destroy the cornea of your eye and could in worst case scenario affect your eye sight. Once one or all four nerves (on both sides of face), are infected, the virus is in that nerve string and can break out.

Herpes Type 2 (HSV-2) does infect the genitalia.

A cold sore is a group of tiny, painful blisters caused by the Herpes Simplex virus (HSV). They’re also called fever blisters or herpes simplex labialis.

Up to 90% of people around the world have at least one outbreak of HSV at least once in their life..

A cold sore caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus is NOT the type of herpes infection that causes sexually transmitted diseases.

"Cold sores" is really not a medical term, but one the public uses; in practice, yes it means herpes, although someone could technically use it to mean anything really as its not a medical designated term; so apthous ulcers could be called by someone as a cold sore, but not really correctly, if they didn't know better--I see people all the time with apthous ulcers and other lesions stating they have "cold sores"
