# Determine the position y(t) and velocity v(t) of the object when t = π/6.?

The displacement from equilibrium of an object in harmonic motion on the end of a spring is given below, where y is measured in feet and t is the time in seconds. Determine the position y(t) and velocity v(t) of the object when t = π/6.

y =1/7 cos(9t) −1/6 sin(9t)

y(pi/6)=?

y(π/2) = (1/7)cos(9π/6) - (1/6)sin(9π/6) = 0 - (-1/6) = 1/6. Answer: 2 inches

v(t) = -9/7 sin(9t) - (9/6) cos(9t)

v(π/6) = (-9/7)(-1) - (9/6)(0) = 9/7 ft/sec.
