    1-2/3-1/3=1-1=0

    =>

    0/3 of the employee walk.

    1/3 + 2/3 = 1 = 100%

    So there's no part left over to walk.

    1 - (2/3 + 1/3) = 0

    simplistically, zero walk, as 1/3 plus 2/3 = 1, all the employees/

    except that some may take both a bus and drive, or walk and take a bus, in which case, the number that walk is unknown.

    There are no walkers.

    If 2/3 drive and 1/3 bus, that is a total of 3/3 which is 100% of the employees, leaving none who walk.
