Question about unemployment?

I have an acquaintance that applied for the pandemic unemployment and just received $6,600 dollars from unemployment.  The thing is, this man hasn't worked for over 15 years, he's retired  Doesn't unemployment check to see your work history?

Unemployment looks mainly at what caused you to be unemployed.  If it wasn't your fault, they look at the last 15 months salary to determine the amount of your benefits.  The regular maximum benefit is $450 per week of unemployment, but Coronavirus prompted Congress to grant some bonuses.
