Do students need a second chance?

Like if its a strict teacher....if the teacher warned a student but the student didn't listen and disobey and then later the same student plead and cry for forgiveness to avoid the punishment...should the teacher still punish the student or give another chance?

Much depends on the severity.    Discipline is part of growing up

I don't think the death penalty should be applied. But the "second chance" is what this student will get after serving detention. That seems entirely fair.
