How do you kow or can a doctor tell you an estimate of how much good bacteria are in our gut over the bad bacteria? Or?

How do you kow or can a doctor tell you an estimate of how much good bacteria are in our gut over the bad bacteria? Or Is it just based off of any negative health symptoms?

    I guess a doctor can put some of your poo under a microscope.

    "good" and "bad" aren't very useful terms in matters like these. We have many different kinds of bacteria in our intestines. many have a useful function (like we couldn't digest our food without them), only some have adverse effects, often only under specific circumstances
