Is marijuana smoking a sin for Christians, even if it's used for chronic pain?
- UserLv 72 months ago
No more than taking a prescribed opiate is a sin.
One should (of course) try to avoid addiction
but taking properly and legally and appropriately-prescribed medication is not a sin
even if that same medication is often used sinfully (illegally) as a recreational drug.

I don't think so. It is a medicine that was banned because people were using it recreationally.

Not if done for medical reasons.

Stop stressing yourself enjoy life. I'm not saying you necessarily need to smoke marijuana to enjoy life. I see nothing wrong with it just dont abuse it. You dont need religion just love and faith.

For medical reasons no. To get intoxicated yes. I think in a number of places in the NT it says drunkards will not enter the kingdom of heaven, I think this can apply to drugs and other intoxicants as well.Source(s): Orthodox Jew
