Note:

x% = x/100

0.5% = 0.5/100

Given:

0.5% of 2 trillion

(0.5/100) x 2 x 10^7

.5% * (1/100%) x 2,000,000,000,000 = 10,000,000,000

That 10 billion

Im going to teach you a mouth formula

If you know the percent but dont know the number then plug it into this formula

.5/100   times    X/2,000,000,000,000

Cross multiply then divide what ever 2 trillion times .5 by 100. if you have the number and need to find the percent then plug it in this formula.

X/100  times Y/Z

To convert a percent to a decimal, divide by 100.

When you are finding a fraction of a larger number, you simply multiply the numbers together:

So we have:  0.5% of 2 trillion

0.5 / 100 * 2000000000000

10,000,000,000

ten billion.

Thanks :) just to make sure I’m right, if I split that number into groups of 21 is 479,190,476.1 the amount of groups I’ll get?

Let's leave the calculator out of this.  10 percent of 2 trillion is 200 billion. One percent of 2 trillion is 20 billion.  So 0.5% of 2 trillion would be 1/2 of 1% or 10 billion.

0.5%  =  0.5/100  =  0.005

2trillion = 2,000,000,000,000

mutiply by 0.005  =  10,000,000,000

or 10 billion
