Can Manchester United grab 4th spot in the Premier League this season or not ?

Chelsea and ourselves are the two contesting this spot.

They have been pretty bad this year as have we.

People forget we beat them at the start of the season 4-0 with Rashford netting us a few goals.

If we don't finish 4th, I would consider this a massive failure and we need to unite against the owners and board.

Would finishing 4th be the only way to salvage our season ?

That, along with winning the Europa (at the very least) should suffice whatever dignity we have left for this season. As poor as we have been, unlike Chelsea, we were able to beat top teams in City, Spurs (Span of 4 days) and Chelsea (twice). We were the first team to put a stop to Liverpool's winning run, and we're still in the cup tournaments.

With that being said, I'm more than confident that we can usurp Chelsea for 4th place. In all honesty, they're just as inconsistent as we are.

I doubt it very much. Look what Southampton are doing right now and only 3 points behind you. Wolves+Spurs are up there too. Your season has finished unless you get a proven manager.

  • It's possible. Really depends on which team can manage to actually win games against teams below them in the table.

Won't happen. Spurs and Wolves are better. United's players aren't even that good. How many United players would walk in to at least one of the top 4 teams first 11's right now?  Bissaka and Rashford and that's probably it. Even then Pereira is better he has most tackles in the league this season and is better in attack, TAA is the best in the world, City have Walker and Cancelo so they're hardly stuck so Chelsea maybe could make the most use of him. Rashford could also start for Chelsea as well as possibly break into the Leicester team but even still he might not even be guaranteed to start. Is that what United are now? Look in football these things happen to every club but in the modern day especially now it's a little different when the big clubs can and do pump millions into signing players every season and this is what they have to show for it
