    The answer of 8,000,000 is not entirely satisfying as obviously, we don't know how many significant figures it contains.

    Better answer is:

      Those aren't decimal points, they are commas...to help to read the number
      The last dot is a full-stop or period I'll remove it if it bothers you.1234567 is difficult to read, but 1,234,567 is much easier.8000000 is the same as 8,000,000 or 8 million!

    Look to the right of the 1 sigfig, it's a 5

    The rule: If 5 or more, round up

    So 8 000 000 or 8 million or 8. x 10^6
