I have a question for born again Christians……?

Does God really expect you to surrender your entire life to him come out in order for you to be saved? I have people tell me all the time that God expects your all.   That you have to give it everything you’ve got in order to be saved?  Is this true?

The Jesus character in the bible didn't stutter when he told people that the only way to be one of his followers was to sell all of your belongings and give the money to the poor.

'Christians' have spent the last 2,000 years trying to convince themselves he didn't really mean it.

A distinction without a difference.   All Christians are born again in baptism.

But not from a materialistic perspective, it is much more about spiritual commitment, John 4:24, 1 Chron. 16:29, 2 Chron. 7:14.

Jesus stated that unless we disown our 'self' and pick up our cross daily, we cannot follow Him. That means being surrendered willingly to have Jesus Christ as our Savior and our Lord, and not being ashamed to be identified with the only means of salvation - whatever the shame, ridicule or suffering that might entail. We bear the name of Jesus of the cross - proudly. He gave His life for us, we give our lives to Him. Once a person has bent their knee in Jesus' name and put all their faith in Him to be saved, they are saved.

Then they begin the process of living the rest of their lives for Christ. But you cannot do that without the Holy Spirit bringing you to that point of faith and surrender. It is all a work of the Holy Spirit, not of ourselves! BECAUSE we are saved, we live for Christ. Just read Ephesians chapter 2 & Luke 9:23

All you have to do is ***BELIEVE*** (Mark 16:16) that HIS "POWER" (Acts 1:8) received after Holy Spirit baptism (Acts 1:5) can raise your "DEAD spirit" up (I Corinthians 15:21-22) "Like AS Christ was raised up from the DEAD by the glory of the Father" (Romans 6:4)

Then THE SPIRIT will do everything else (Philippians 2:13; Acts 1:2)!

If you don't mind an answer from a Christian standpoint, seems you are referencing Matthew 16:24 "Then Jesus said to his disciples: “If anyone wants to come after me, let him disown himself and pick up his torture stake and keep following me."

The most important vow that a Christian can make is the one with which he dedicates his life to God. Why so? Because, in private prayer, he solemnly promises God that he will use his life to serve God forever, no matter what. To use Jesus’ words, a person thus ‘disowns himself,’ gives up all rights to himself, and vows to put God’s will above everything else in his life. (Matt. 16:24) From that day forward, ‘he belongs to Jehovah.’  It means that you live, not to please self, but God. (Romans 14:8)

You have to be born anew of the Spirit.

No.  You can't do works to be saved.  "Surrender your entire life" is works.  "Give it everything you've got" is works.  Nobody will be saved by works.  These people telling you these things, are leading you to hell.  Avoid them.  To be saved, believe in Jesus.  That easy.

Nobody can be good enough to avoid hell. The truth is that death leads to immediate heaven or hell, depending only on whether the person believed in Jesus for eternal life, or not.

The truth is that Jesus loves you and wants to bless your life freely :) Most of all, Jesus wants you with Him forever, and not in hell. The truth is that every belief except one will lead to eternal torment in the lake of fire for every person. Because nothing pays for our sins except the death and blood of Jesus, the sacrifice of Jesus that is already accomplished by Him . Jesus loves you! The truth is that Jesus is God, and Jesus died on the cross to pay for all of our sins in full, and then Jesus resurrected from the dead. Nothing else pays for our sins, not works, not deeds, not religions. So the only way to heaven and to avoid hell, is by believing in Jesus for eternal life (John 6:47), without adding any of your own works (Romans 4:5). Believe in Jesus to take you to heaven, and you will be in heaven, no matter what, guaranteed. That easy, thanks to Jesus! Tell Jesus that you thank Him that you will be with Him in heaven when you die, because you believe in Jesus! It is too late to be saved, after death

“Surrender your life” is a euphemism for being totally controlled and fleeced.

This is absolutely true.  That’s what “lord” and “master” implies.
