In re quid pro quos, did Sondland and Trump have an agreement that if Sondland gave Trump $1,000,000, Trump would give him an ambassadorship?

    No, but many of Obama's highest donors got ambassadorships in which they didn't even know where the country was.

    Not exactly. Sondland made a million dollar contribution and ask to be considered. This is normal for the way many ambassadors jobs are filled. For example, John Kennedy's daddy was the Ambassador to Great Britain, having paid for this premium of all Ambassadorships, but was a proponent of Hitler. When Hitler invaded Poland and started WWII, he was recalled and disgraced from politics. So, he encouraged his boys to enter politics. Of which, the best one was the oldest one. But he was killed in the war, shifting the focus to John.
