Why are molecular biology textbooks more likely to cite biochemistry textbooks than vice versa?

I took biochem 45+ years ago.  Biochem is tied more t research and finding/explaining chem processes (chem reactions) in cells.  Molec. bio. (a class I never took, so I am guessing here) uses the results of the research from biochem, not vice versa.
