    You can start as a kid. Find a ground school. Pay them the money, take the classes, see how you do. If you can not pass ground school there is no reason to spend money on flight lessons.

    Just drive to the local small airport, walk into the flight school, and say, "I want to learn to fly."

    Buy or build a plane.

    If you mean a commercial airline pilot, you have to have a college degree.
