Vanadium is the metal
vanadium forms metal aquo complexes of which the colours are lilac [V(H2O)6]2+, green [V(H2O)6]3+
so your colours are right but the oxidation states are reversed. The lilac is +2 and the pale green oxidation state of vanadium is +3

there are no metals that are green.
copper oxide is green, perhaps that is what you want?
