Do you consider toasting bread, preparing instant noodles, or boiling an egg to be cooking?

Of course it is cooking, of a kind. You're doing something to turn the food into something different or make it edible. If you're going to say they aren't cooking, then where does cooking begin? It's not elaborate cooking, but it could still go wrong. Ask anyone who regularly burns toast. Some skill is required, even though it's only minimal.

Those are preparation jobs not necessarily cooking.

    Absolutely not.

These skills are the bare minimum for independent survival, but not a healthy one.

Yes, try easy recipes like chicken tacos wrapped in romaine lettuce and flour tortillas with ranch and cheese, or steak tacos with red peppers garlic, jalapenos and onions you can substitute it with ground beef as well.

No.  It is only the most basics of cooking.

Toasting bread in a toaster? No. Toasting it in the oven for making croutons or stuffing? Yes.

Pouring boiling water from a kettle into a paper cup of noodles? No. Measuring water into a pot, boiling it on the stove, adding noodles and seasoning? Reluctantly, yes.

    Boiling an egg? Yes.

Anything that uses the stove/oven and requires any measuring or timing is cooking IMO (even if a monkey could do it).
