Answer is a bit long as I’ve tried to explain fully.

1. Call the bottom right-hand corner P. You have a large right-angled triangle, ABP.

Hypotenuse AB= 60m. Side opposite angle v = BP = 12m.

sin(v) = BP/AB = 12/60 = 0.2

v = sin⁻¹(0.2)

, .= 11.54º

(Note, your calculator must be set to degrees mode, not radians mode.)

2. In triangle BCP:

sin(30º) = BP/BC = 12/BC

BC = 12/sin(30º) = = 12/(0.5) = 24m

There are several ways to find AC. Here’s one using the sine rule in triangle ABC (see link)

∠ABC = 180º – 150º - 11.54º = 18.46º

24/sin(11.54º) = AC/sin(18.46º)

AC = 24sin(18.46º)/sin(11.54º)

. . . = 38m

60 sinv = 12, sinv = 1/5 and v = 11.54 deg.

12/CB = sin 30 = 1/2, CB = 24 m,

AC = 60 cosv - 12/tan30 = 60 cos11.54 - 12/tan30 = 38 m
