Help with rafter layout, urgent!?


I need help laying out common rafters with the following specifications.Span-->  12'6"Slope--> 6/12Overhang--> 16"The rafters are 2 by 6, (actual 1.5 by 5.5)Any calculations or images appreciated.

I need to draw steps of the rafters, birds mouth, plumb, tail, soffit cuts for an assignment on a piece of wood

    You need a carpenters square!

    on the same edge, set one side at 6" and the other at 12"! This will give you all of your lines for either vertical or horizontal.

    im a builder in uk sons a carpenter ..a rafter length of 12ft 6"..and on a 26 degree pitch ..your 6/12 ...would need at the very least 7x2 rafters ..preferably 8x2 ...yours would be ok ..provided you used purlins ..we always take into account snow loadings ...your pitch is fairly flat

      The assignment was to layout the cuts, not structural calculations.

    Any carpentry manual should give you setting out for these.
