Why are more and more people sleep deprived today?

Now a days, even teens have sleeping problems. Nobody seems to be getting enough sleep. Wouldn't that be harmful for progression of society since lack of sleep lowers both physical performance and cognitive performance.

The lights from phones, computers, bright light bulbs and TV's trick the body into thinking it's day time so your body tells you to stay awake or makes less of the hormones that trigger sleepiness, making it harder to fall asleep.

People's lifestyles are busier and more complicated compared to 30 or 40 years ago so there is more to think about or worry about making falling asleep harder.

It makes sense nowadays that people are staring at screens when they're awake, and then going to sleep phone-in-hand, that people have trouble sleeping.
