which is a stronger material, human bone or a concrete brick?
I'm wondering about fist strength. I saw a video where a woman punched through 10 solid concrete bricks.
As a guy who works with bricks at a home depot, they looked about 4 inches thick, 6 inches long and 6 inches wide. One of these isnt very heavy, but 10 of them can weigh abit. But she broke through 10 of them. Granted they were stationary and not held togther by any other material.
In comparison, could some one punch or kick and break a set of rib bones? granted these are held togther by muscle and tissue, but can it be done? and how much force do you think would need to be applied behind the punch or kick

It depends on what you mean by "stronger". Typically, when people talk about a material strength, they really mean the compression strength or how much force in pounds per squared inch (PSI) the material can take before the structure fails. But the force exerted by compression is not the same as the kinetic energy that is exerted on the material when struck by a object in motion. That's because Kinetic Energy is defined by the formula:
KE = .5 X Mass X velocity X velocity
A brick or human bone is very strong, but a tiny lead bullet travelling at over +2000 ft/sec can still destroy it. And, yet, lead is soft and you can even bite it and leave bite marks.
Meaning, if you were to strike a brick such that you generate sufficient speed, it is possible to crack the brick. By the same token, if a brick was to hit a human bone at sufficient speed, it too can break bone.
As for whether a blow from a punch or kick can break a set of rib bone, absolutely, if the blow has sufficient kinetic energy. The rule of thumb is that like material can destroy each other. A diamond can cut another diamond. A steel blade can shatter a steel blade of the same steel. Bones can break other bones.

concrete brick is brittle u can drop it and it would shatter but very strong in
compression ..garbage in ===> garbage out

Concrete brick i think

Human bone is far denser and stronger than concrete. Imagine how brittle a shaft of concrete as thin and long as the bones in your arm would be. Even a child could probably snap them in half.
