If we have a heavenly Father, why don't we have a heavenly Mother? Unless you are Catholic it feels like something is out of balance!?

What makes you think that there isn't one? Where there is male, there is female, but God doesn't like us to talk about her too much. He doesn't want her mocked or blasphemed.

God created man in his own image = Adam.

Adam got lonely and asked for a companion. God took his rib and made woman = Eve.

But in whose image she was made!

Gen 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow, thou shalt bring forth children and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

    Ephesians 5:22 - 24:

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

    Corinthians 14:34-35.

34 women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says.

35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

1Ti 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

It's only out of balance if you think God is male!

That's where Catholicism joins other religions, having a god and a goddess.

Because you use your intellect , reason and logic that GOD endow upon mankind ,then you said the truth . Further more, Adam and Eve, have no father and mother , but there is no one on earth call them, the son and the daughter of GOD. So their believe is actually out of the fold of the believing in the one true GOD ,the Lord of all the worlds, who have no partner, or as being called the real Monotheist.

It’s not out of balance, He is our Father, our protector, our provider, but He is also tender-hearted and nurturing like a mother. Mothers and fathers both come from Him and are made in His image.

    Genesis 1:27

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

    Isaiah 49:15

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!

    Isaiah 66:13

As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”

    Matthew 23:37

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.

Father, Son & Holy Spirit. Is the Holy Spirit the missing feminine essence? It seems like Catholics have the right idea with including Mother Mary! It's a shame she's not mentioned in the Bible as a nurturing, mothering spirit we can call upon for comfort.
