Getting YA points? Is it true that if someone receives the best answer award, before you answer someone's question, that you will not get?
any points for answering? And if so, WHY is that?

No its not True you still get the 2 Points some people are confused by the Message that Appears that says you get Nothing when you Answer a Question that has a Best Answer on It
If you Check your Points you will Likely Notice you still got the 2 Points Even tho it said 0
When Yahoo Reprogrammed there System they Just Forgot to take the 0 part out

No, that's not true. You get points.

No, I think you get 2 points but I'm not certain.
We shouldn't be ABLE to answer questions that have been awarded BA.

That used to be the case, but if you check your point count BEFORE you answer a question with a BA, post an answer, then check your point count again, you'll see that you do get 2 pts anyway (even though you may see a message that says you get 0 pts for answering a question with a BA already).

No, it is NOT true anymore. That WAS true for about 4 months in 2014 because some long time level 7 complained to Yahoo that OTHER level 7 accounts were blatantly point gaming and cheating. That was 5 YEARS ago. SOME accounts are still maliciously misinforming people.
If you answer a question that already has a best answer chosen you DO get 2 points.
If you answer your OWN question, you get 0 points AND you CANNOT choose your own answer as best answer so you cannot point game that way.
