I just pulled into the parking lot at work and when I got off my van I noticed I had more space to back up so I tried to turn on my van and?

..... it was dead. I checked the ports and everything looked good. The battery is new. What can it be? I have a 2006 Honda Odyssey EXL

Ram the shift lever back and forth and then try starting it in Neutral.

It's probably a connection or fuse (not an expensive fix). Have a mechanic check it out.

Just a guess, given the battery is new, the battery was not being recharged while you drove to work. So when you shut off the engine, your van had no battery power to restart it.

A further guess...the battery was not hooked up to the generator/alternator, which is why it didn't recharge.

Maybe you broke the port's electrical connection when jumping off the van.
