i cut my wooden attic stairs 1 inch too short. HELP?

Build a new building is the other solution. Easy to see which one takes less money and less time to do.

Lower the atttic floor? If that sounds too much like hard work add an inch packer to the bottom of the stair. Uneven risers are best at the bottom end in case it does make you stumble.

which piece did you cut too short? and what sort of stair is this? pull down stairs can easily be 'fixed' for this ... just make a one inch shim [two pieces of 5/8 inch ply back to back] to go under the foot of the stairs when pulled down.Source(s): grampa

Use shims which are commonly used to make it plumb, level and square.

just place a 1" tread under the bottom of the stringers.

Glue a piece back in.
