I can feed them oxbow so what should I give for protein?I was going to also give the oxbow for young rats the blocks?

    I fed my Dumbo rats in the past oxbow for young & then after 6 months of age gave them the adult oxbow they lived till about 2 1/2yrs to almost 3 yrs

    Meat, egg and fish is high in protein. Feed one of those things daily but you don't need to give a lot.

    In addition to rat pellets, such as oxbow blocks, rats should eat a variety of fibrous fruits and veggies. Acceptable fruits include apples, pears, bananas, melons, berries, and citrus fruits. Acceptable vegetables include broccoli, cabbage, celery, carrots, parsley, and fresh corn.

    For additional protein you can give them bits of safe granola, nuts, porridge and egg but not too often.
