If a kindergartener is labeled with retardation, how do their classmates always find out?

If a child is indeed retarded so severely that they have been officially diagnosed, then obviously the other children will notice. It doesn't mean that the children know anything about the official 'label'.

Since no professinals use that term any more you are talking crap. But if there is signifigant special needs than the kindergarten child will have a teacher aid. Where I live kids certainly don't call it that either. They say he's in the disabled unit if there is a separate part of the school or they say special needs. Which means all kinds of different things. Children in the special needs unit some are deaf, some are blind, some are autistic, some have cerebral palsy. Some have Down's Syndrome, some need wheel chairs.

How many of these situations have you researched to show that it "always" happens?
Since you are probably the only person on the planet to have researched so many of these situations you should be the single most expert of why they occur also.

Einstein didn't speak his first word until he was four.
What you think is retardation could be a genius in the making. Who are you to decide?
