    over hunting, diseases(ie rabies), loss of habitat, predators, loss of food sources, and climate change

    Maybe if (a) raccoon fur coats and hats came back into style, (b) raccoon hunting became as popular as buffalo hunting in the 1800s, and (c) state and local governments did nothing to regulate the hunting. I don't see all of that happening.

    at this point i doubt much if anything would cause that. they seem relatively well adapted to living around suburban neighborhoods, scavenging garbage and whatnot.

    around here they're common as weeds
