If the Honda civic is rattling, can I still drive from my hometown to the major city? or could my engine overheat more to result in a fire?

There are hundreds of things on a car that can rattle. Very few of them can cause a car to overheat. Even fewer could cause a fire. Best to find the source and fix it. Probably just a missing rubber bushing on an exhaust hanger.

Impossible to say. Rattling is not enough of a diagnosis.

What's rattling? If it's just the exhaust shields remove them.

If it is rattling it might be a motor mount.
