you can reset your windows 10 without help of any other device, be careful though, it will wipe everything.

Maybe, maybe not. With some computers, the activation code is embedded in a chip somewhere on the motherboard. If your computer doesn't have it, the USB stick will come in handy.

If your having problems with Windows, resetting does not always fix the problem. Resetting back to factory defaults on a computer you purchased will get you all the crapware reinstalled.

What is better is to get your self a new USB stick or one that does not have anything on it and use Microsoft's Media Creation Tool. It will download the current version of Windows 10 and place it on the USB stick and make it bootable. Then you do a CLEAN INSTALL. Better Yet - replace your existing Hard Drive with a SSD and do the Clean Install on a new Hard Drive. Now you will have a brand new installation with no crapware.

No you do not. The license and activation has been essentially tied to the physical hardware configuration. Just type "reset" in the lower left search box Click "Reset this PC" and follow the prompts.

If you can't access the reset option within windows hold down the shift key and choose the restart option either from within windows or at the log in screen. This takes you to the advanced boot options>troubleshoot>reset

A factory reset will return the computer to "out of the box" state. This means that it will have whatever originally came on the computer. If your 'Microsoft 10' (I'm assuming WINDOWS 10) was installed afterward, then yes, you will need that to reinstall. if the USB stick only has the activation number (Again, assuming you meant Installation KEY), then yes, you will need to enter this number in order to get the installation activated.

Always save any and all personal information on your computer to USB, CD, or DVD before performing a factory reset. You WILL lose all information you have added to the computer: files, spreadsheets, pics and any and all programs you added after. (Copy any downloaded install programs to removable media too)
