What is the best way to fight real OCD.?

I'm afraid of germs and am constantly washing my hands. My thoughts usually focus on my body, any small bump I'm convinced is a wart. Any zit near my lip is a coldsore and any dry skin on my feet is athletes foot. If you had OCD, how did you beat it?

I'm wondering if this is actually OCD. It sounds more like health anxiety. I suggest talking with a professional about your problem.

The Yale-Brown OCD Scale online is a tool used by professionals.

In his best-seller The Feeling Good Handbook, psychiatrist David Burns says that when people suffer from health anxiety, this is a sign that they're worried about something else.
