I still get teary eyed over my cat no longer being with me on Earth even though it's been over 3 years.

No. I even have a little cat graveyard under my lemon tree. I'm up to 10ish cats? Maybe a few more. They were cremated first, so it's just ashes and angel cat statues.

I'm always happy when they die peacefully before I do. What's really sad is when a pet outlives its owner and has nowhere to go as a result.
