Is it okay to use table salt and water to rise your mouth after getting your tongue pierced?

    Table salt has iodine, which can get in the way of properly cleaning the piercing.

    Ideally you should use sea salt, which does not have iodine in it.

      My mum seems to think table salt is fine n tells me there’s no point getting sea salt but do you recon I could just use antibacterial mouthwash

    Not only OK, it's a good idea to prevent infection (and is generally non-harmful, though you should spit it out to prevent ingesting too much salt - most people already get too much salt in their diet).
