If the US government didn't build hundreds of military bases around the world to protect corporate interests would they be able to implement?

Universal healthcare for their people?

What on earth are you talking about, having a US military base in a country has nothing to do with universal healthcare.

Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Canada and New Zealand are just some of the countries who have universal health care and no US military bases.

It is left wing governments who in the vast majority of cases introduced universal health care in their country, the idea that these are the parties supported by corporate interests is a ridiculous claim.

These are the very people in the US who oppose universal health care because they are making huge profits from the system which exists.

quite easy. corporations are also the reason why healthcare is expensive in the US

LOL. The USA only has those bases because allies allow them to have them. Most bases are leased and shared with allies.

No of course not, universal health care is not possible under the current US economic policies. The providers won't tolerate the low compensation, nor the massive increase in use.

    Yes...................

The US government can't get the Real ID Act implemented which is a relatively simple process (it's been 14 years so far)

If "we" built a military base in every country in the world and all major cities, we still wouldn't be able to successfully implement universal healthcare.

The first time people discover that national healthcare coverage doesn't cover ever scratch, sniffle or major medical crisis, there will be an uproar.

Yes. If states did not spend zillions on the military we could have a paradise on Earth.

Yes until some other country conquered us. And it is not zillions, not to mention most of that money goes to employ US citizens in some way.

I agree that we should decrease our military foot-print in the world. But I as a Conservative am willing to live with the consequences. Liberals are not willing to live with the consequences.

The consequences are that when We (America) close our military bases, what will follow is regional wars, genocide, rape, dictatorships and anything else you can think of coming from an authoritarian third world country.

When I mention to Liberals that these outcomes are highly possible, they just stand there with their mouths open and give no response. Liberals do not realize that we live in a consequential world.

I don't worry much about such as long as US citizens are not affected. We can't be the policeman of the world.

They could also solve homelessness, with the money they spend on war. (But you never see liberals try to do anything about this, because they are too busy doing partisan and identity politics.)

How many would be homeless if they were not employed by the military, and how much trouble might they cause??
