    P(7,5)T(x,y)=P'(2,8)

    x=2-7=-5

    y=8-5=3

    Operations with single digit numbers are something most children learn in 1st grade.

    We do not know what P is and what P' is. The convention is that the primed point is the image (point after translation)

    Then T(x,y) = (x-5, y+3).

    But you have to change signs if it is the opposite.

    T(x, y) = (x - 5, y + 3)
