i have a 2005 audi a4 1.8t fwd automatic with a bad engine,will any audi a4 1.8t work from audi? awd? rwd?

    Your best bet is to find another FWD Audi A4 of that vintage. You can also use the tranny from an Audi TT, VW GTI, Jetta, or Passat with the 1.8T. The VW branded models will be easier to source since those were FWD variants.

    I know the automatic engine is not compatible with a standard and would assume the opposite is true. Different crankshaft end for the different transmissions.

      But AWD or no doesn't matter, VW 1.8T the same.
