Besides alcohol what else could raise liver enzymes to go up higher and show inflammation?

    Autoimmune hepatitis

    Liver cancer

    Mononucleosis

    Heart failure

    too much acetaminophen

    Stetosis

    Any of the hepatitis viruses

    HIV infection

    Liver cancer

    Cholestasis

    Cholelithiasis

    Hyperthermia

    Hypoxia

    NSAID use

    The list goes on and on. Liver enzymes are rather non-specific.

    A wide range of medicines can damage the liver. Which is one of the reasons to not take pills outside of the range prescribed by the MD.

    Fat. I was diagnosed a few years ago with fatty liver that caused my liver enzymes to elevate. At the time I was eating horribly due to family loss and it caused this. There are other things such as diseases and genes that could also play a role
