Should social media platforms be held responsible for the spread of disinformation (formerly known as ‘fake news’)?

    The thing is the disinformation is coming from the mainstream media. It's mockingbird mind control, The trash on there will never tell you the real truth. All they are doing is social eingineering people's thoughts through herd think and brainwash. The real threat to the free press is the corporate media and government.

    Of course. Anonymity gives people the go-ahead to expose the darkest corners of the human heart. The motives behind fake news is always to cause chaos and spread hate.

    Social media platforms all have the ability to monitor and take down multiple accounts created specifically to fester hate. They are the only ones with the power to stop it.

    I think all news outlets should be social media and broadcast centers like cnn and fox news and all the others.

    Only if you arrest every person who takes part in social media. They are the ones who do the posting, not the platforms.
