    Many Japanese come to the U.S. for higher education, so they have the best of both worlds. Few Americans go to Japan.

    I've never heard that before. You should look into Japanese "scientists" like Haruko Obukata. She received a lot of praise for her work for a long time, and then it was found to be complete and utter bullcrap. Her lab notes were filled with doodles and weird messages. Her data was completely forged.
