The probem is not womens roles. It is how the world thinks of them. If you think that bearing children, nurturing children and being the driving force in family is less important than the praise of the world, then yes, you will not feel that you have equal value to men. In a world that does not value the unique gifts of womenhood, women will always feel undervalued.
I worked at HP for 30 years. About 50 percent of the engineers are women. They are paid the same as men and are valued the same (or better). The president of the company has been a women. But when they have children, they are conflicted and have to decide between work and family. I think it is a shame.
By the way, in your heart, what do you feel is more important, being there for and raising good and healthy children, or earning money?
