When you ignore a subpoena and no show, you are put in jail....and kept there until you agree to testify. Shouldn't this apply even more...?

...to publicly elected officials? Did we elect them to be above the law?

Yes. The House also has that power. A finding of contempt can result in jail time. They should not be above the law.

A federal judge in New York on Wednesday ruled that Deutsche Bank and Capital One may provide President Trump's financial records to House Democratic lawmakers after the administration attempted to block the move.

The ruling is the second setback for the president this week in his fight to stop lawmakers from gaining access to his financial records as part of their sweeping probes into him, his administration, his private businesses and his family.

Trump, his businesses and family members had argued for the federal court in New York to issue a preliminary injunction to block the subpoenas for documents.

The Mueller investigation paid for itself.

Trump’s former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, was sentenced for obstruction of justice and conspiracy in September. Manafort, as part of his plea deal, agreed to forfeit assets valued around $42 million, including about $22 million in real estate property, according to CNBC, though a Justice Department official told NBC News that the money would not go directly to funding the investigation.

But the cost of Mueller’s investigation is much lower than previous ones. The investigation into President Bill Clinton from 1994 to 2002 cost approximately $69 million, and the investigation into Iran-Contra cost approximately $47 million, not adjusted for inflation, according to the Washington Post.

The courts will decide that. No one has to do something just because a bunch of angry Democrats demand it. The Dems are so warped these days that literally EVERYTHING they attempt must be vetted (ie opposed) first in court. Only THEN what passes legal scrutiny will be allowed.

  • Geez, give it up already. Mueller and an entire team of left wing idiots who were determined to find something spent years and $millions looking, and they came up empty handed. If Trump was a democrap, you'd be whining how it's time to move on.
