No, it is not.
when I first became vegan I started hearing that soy was bad from you in lots of ways and from lots of places. So I sat down and really researched the hell out of it.
What I found is no really good studies or documentation that soy is bad for you.
There were some studies that associated soy milk with an increase in the likelihood of breast cancer. But there were also some studies that associated a decrease in the likelihood of breast cancer. and these studies did not find more or less breast cancer among the women they studied. It was an increase or decrease in other things. Basically, a lot more research was necessary to decide.
I also heard that soy caused thyroid cancer. I was actually able to run down where this story came from. Like 60 years ago, in India, there was a very small study among infants drinking soy formula. One baby developed a thyroid issue. not cancer. The results of this study have never been replicated although many studies have taken place in 60 years. Still, you hear soy causes thyroid cancer. And there is still a warning on soy milk that it shouldn't be used for formula.
The estrogen stuff is very complicated but mostly misunderstood. I won't get into it here but it can be safely disregarded.
If you want to read more about it, I suggest checking out this article.
Oh, and you can safely disregard almost everything that comes out of the Weston A. Pierce Foundation. I believe they are a shill for the dairy industry.
