It is VERY common. In fact, it's the usual thing.
Most women can't actually "feel it" when a man is ejaculating. They might sometimes feel the physical pulsations that his penis makes while he's ejaculating, but they can't usually feel the actual ejaculation of semen inside them.
That's because a woman's vagina has very few nerve endings in it that are capable of "feeling" something as physically subtle as ejaculation.

Yeah. The inside of the vagina isn't all that sensitive, especially during all the excitement of intercourse, that you'd notice the addition of a teaspoonful of fluid.
You generally *will* notice if your partner ejaculated, however, when you stand up afterwards and gravity kicks in.

Yes. The nerves in the vagina are concentrated in the part nearest the entrance, with very few near the cervix.
