My friend said in 10 years we will all evacuate to a new planet, like Mars. He said the value of money will drop so low in 10 years that maybe the value of the paper for a 100 dollar bill will be worth more than a 100 dollars. He said this is because of the oil crisis in the Middle East, and that it's even on the news. Is this true?

Of course not. We can't afford to move ALL the humans to another planet. Only a very small number of people will be able to afford a place on a spaceship.

Also, US currency isn't printed on paper. It's actually cloth, which is why it is somewhat waterproof.

I would not be surprised if bills will cost more than $1 to make, but $100 seems like an exaggeration.

The uninhabitability of the Earth is due to global warming. American dependence on oil is a major cause of that, but individual price shocks and wars fought over oil do not contribute much.

Inflation is caused by the government printing money faster than it wears out. They have been doing this to prop up the stock market and reduce the value of their own debt. That debt IS in large part caused by spending on US military action in the Middle East to protect our oil companies. But it's also part of a general trend of the government being irresponsible.

Humans cannot breathe the air on Mars and most of the other planets within our galaxy - we can't live on those either. The ones we "may" be able to live on - that's a long way off. Regarding Mars, we would have to we some sort of hazmat suit and carry a tank of oxygen on our backs at all times, or carry it around. It would need refilling every hour or so. There are a couple of other problems with making Mars a livable place. The experts are stumped about what to do about the lack of suitable oxygen on Mars, so don't expect that to happen for a very long time, if ever.
