Is it difficult to learn to drive?

    No, but if you are fearful of driving you may be better off learning how to drive with a professional driving instructor as opposed to having a friend or family member teach you.

    Its not as hard as a lot of things but its not trivial either. FWIW for me the hardest thing was "road sense" cycling on roads helped a lot when i was not driving.

    It is easy to point the car and steer it along the road. The more intricate bits of driving are more difficult. Once you get a sense of the car and how the accelerator and clutch work together so you can do a hill start smoothly you have it sorted. The main thing is confidence.

    It was for me, but one day it just clicks and it's second nature. It's definitely worth it for the freedom it gives you, although I pity learner drivers in this day and age with the state of the traffic on the roads.
