Who are the sons of God as recorded in the book of Job?
(Job 1:6) “6 Now the day came when the sons of the true God entered to take their station before Jehovah, . . .”
(Job 38:7) “7 When the morning stars joyfully cried out together, And all the sons of God began shouting in applause?”
These 'sons of God' were around prior to the creation of the earth and are also prior to the creation of Adam so they couldn't be the sons of Seth.

They are angels - spirit beings created by God before humans. Like humans, they had to choose whether to obey God or not. The expression "sons of God" refer to faithful angels as in Job chapter 1 and 2 AND rebellious angels, as in Genesis 6:2-4.
In the book of Job, chapters 1 and 2, the sons of the true God took their place before God, which indicated that they had a place there as approved, faithful angels. Then Satan came among them, an appearance that indicated that Satan (which means "opposer" or "resister") was a rebellious angel, appeared separately.
Later in the book of Job, the sons of God were shown to shout in applause when they observed the creation of the heavens and the earth. Job 38:4-7 These angels, like the first ones in the two assemblies in Job chapters 1 and 2, are obviously faithful angels
The disobedient sons of God which included the "sons of God" of Genesis chapter 6 are destined to be jailed and destroyed, because they were not to get married and have children with human women, which they did, so they left their proper estate to marry daughters of men (Matthew 22:30), and this was confirmed by Peter's and Jude's inspired words (1 Peter 3:19, 20; 2 Peter 2:4, 5; Jude 6). This disobedience greatly added to the violence of the time before the flood, because their hybrid Nephilim children killed many humans, and the angels took all of the women that they wanted to produce more violent children.
The demons all knew that they will eventually be jailed and later destroyed, as is indicated by their pleading Jesus not to throw them into the abyss, and also Satan's knowledge that he had a short period of time left. Since the angels are God’s creation, they are called the sons of God. They came into existence long before humans.

Since these ones are in heaven, taking their stations before God, they must be angels because humans aren't in heaven.

God’s Word, the Bible, tells us that when the earth was founded, “all the sons of God began shouting in applause.” Job 38:4-7
Angels thus existed long before humans were created, even before the creation of the earth.
This Bible passage also shows that angels have feelings, for it says that they joyfully cried out together.
Note that all the sons of God rejoiced together. At that time, all the angels were part of a united family serving Jehovah God.
How much more so will the angelic sons of God cry out in joy, to God’s glory, when Paradise is restored!

When God created spirit creatures, he made them free moral agents, able to chlorine themselves whether to do good or bad. Sadly, after the creation of humankind, an undisclosed number of angels chose to do bad by rebelling against God. The first and most infamous spirit to rebel became Satan, “He did not stand fast in the truth,” said Jesus Christ. (John 8:44) What moved Satan to turn against God? He began to covet the worship that belongs exclusively to the Creator, and then he acted on that desire by setting himself up as a rival god. In this way HE MADE HIMSELF “Satan,” a word that means “resister.” Centuries later, prior to the Flood of Noah’s day, other angels joined Satan, forsaking their heavenly position to materialize in human form and dwell on earth. (Genesis 6:1-4; James 1:13-15) When the Flood occurred, the materialized “angels that sinned” apparently returned to the spirit realm. (2 Peter 2:4; Genesis 7:17-24) In time, they came to be called demons.-Deuteronomy 32:17; Mark 1:34.Source(s): JW.org
