Would hospitals really do this?

A friend of mine who works in the linen services department (restocking supplies) of a hospital, said he was in the ER department today when a gunshot victim came in coding. He claimed to do CPR on him. I think he's full of crap because don't hospitals have a team of medical professionals that are responsible for responding to codes? Especially while in the ER, I'd think there would be doctors and nurses who would come to the rescue.

It sounds doubtful, especially if he was not trained in CPR (then really doubtful), but if he was the only one around available in a small ER, then maybe, but yes, almost all facilities have teams and staff for this.

    I would not believe him.

He may very well have been drafted to help if the team members were tired or otherwise occupied.

He is not a doctor, in the hospital he can't legally touch a patient.

Your friend is full of crap.
