Heat, not so much,
but as long as you don't put the camera in a pan or an oven that shouldn't be a problem.
Keep that as far away as possible.
It won't really hurt anything, but smoke particles are small enough to get inside the camera
and would be virtually impossible to clean out.
Steam is yet another matter.
It can contain traces of substances being heated,
including sugars which will remain sticky once deposited on the camera.
using the camera in a Sensible Manner for her purposes should do it no harm.
