Gene Lebell was a pretty tough sort of guy. He was known to have had more than his fair share of scraps and dealing with people on a physical level if they were to put him in that situation. Even among those trained and in friendly matches he had a winning record and a good reputation and was held in high regard for his skills and knowledge. My money would be on him.
