a) How many isomers are formed in the nitration of m-xylene? Represent them and name them.
b) How many isomers are formed in the nitration of p-xylene? Represent them and name them.
c) A chemical isolated an aromatic compound of molecular formula C6H4Br2. Subsequently, it carefully nitrated that compound and purified three isomers of the formula C6H3Br2NO2. Propose structures for the original dibromo compound and for the three nitrated derivatives.
